Bonus Track

“Time” by Paul Puricelli

Think John Lennon meets Randy Newman . . . St. Louisan Paul Puricelli (perhaps you’ve seen him playing outdoors at Cafe Napoli, Clayton) penned and performed this song, about “the current situation we all find ourselves in.  With all of the back and forth and finger pointing on TV, it seems to me that something is getting lost—namely, that a lot of people are hurting and looking for some hope in all of this.  I know this is just a song, but I wanted to get some words of love and hope out there.”

LYRICS “Indestructible” (Copyright)

VERSE
I’ve been running from 9 to 5
Been biting my tongue for all this time Won’t let anyone cut me short
I was thinking this was the way to go And you put up your puppetshow
I say cheers to life
Won’t be no good man’s wife

CHORUS
Just leave me alone
I’m running this show
I’m telling you it’s my time to rise up Live the life I’m proud of
NO
You better go home
I’m telling you it’s my time to rise up Live the life I’m proud of

VERSE
So I woke up
Sun in my eyes
Forgot all about what I did last night
What I do remember’s that It was real real nice Talks about me
Are never good
I don’t live life the way I should oh well
I’m in for some fun tonight

CHORUS
Just leave me alone
I’m running this show
I’m telling you it’s my time to rise up Live the life I’m proud of
NO
You better go home
I’m telling you it’s my time to rise up Live the life I’m proud of

POST CHORUS
Hey now, Don’t be shy
Follow my lead if you wanna be mine Hey now, Just you and I
We could be the next bonnie and clyde Hey now, Don’t be shy
Follow my lead if you wanna be mine it’s our time to rise up
Live the life we’re proud of
